Headshot photographs for their new Headmistress
Jo Duncan has had an exceptional career in education to date and when we met her, she was just about to take over as Headmistress at Wycombe Abbey in High Wycombe.
We visited her at the Royal High School in Bath where she had previously been the Headteacher. She had just announced the new role in Wycombe Abbey and wanted to get a range of professional yet personable headshots and portraits to be used for a wide range of uses such as PR, websites and literature for Wycombe Abbey. Wycombe Abbey in High Wycombe is a prestigious girls boarding school for 640 girls.
To get a wide range of images, we photographed both outdoors and in Jo’s amazing office. The grounds of the Royal High School in Bath gave us so many opportunities although we wanted the images to be ambiguous as far as location was concerned. Shooting towards the end of the day gave us more flattering light. I used the sun behind Jo to create a hair light and she was so relaxed in front of the camera we just chatted about her new school and how excited she was to be the headmistress. Jo had an amazing study that we incorporated into the images that were more personal branding than headshots. We wanted to give an approachable yet professional look to the images and used the environment as a backdrop. Using her office in the background helps to tell the story of who she is so that when people think of her they really relate to her and picture her working at her desk. It was great to meet and photograph Jo before the next step in her career. We wish her all the best at Wycombe Abbey.
